Our Story

Embark on a journey with That’s What She Said Terre Haute, where we celebrate the power of women's voices through captivating storytelling. Our mission is to weave a tapestry of shared experiences, fostering connections and empowering women to be authentic, brave, and vulnerable all while supporting the local Terre Haute community. Join us as we amplify the voices of our community, one story at a time.

In 2025, That’s What She Said Terre Haute took its first steps, joining the national movement of That’s What She Said by bringing it into our community. Since then, we’ve begun to put on annual shows that are beacons of inspiration, igniting conversations, and building bridges between different parts of our community

Bev Merritt Hicks

Meet the driving force behind TWSS. Bev Merritt-Hicks.

Bev is a passionate and dedicated activist for the Terre Haute Community, with a strong background in child advocacy. This empowers her to make a meaningful impact in The Wabash Valley. With 30 years of experience, She has cultivated a keen expertise in making changes, driving innovation and excellence. Bev is the co-founder of SHINE Foster Family Resources. This local nonprofit works closely with The Department of Child Services and other agencies to ensure no child goes without the essentials needed during this critical time. Bev's journey began in 2018, igniting a lifelong passion for empowering women. She has collaborated with various organizations throughout her career, contributing to projects that inspire change and advancement.

Lori Aden

Lori Aden is a writer, speaker, and creative based in Terre Haute. After publishing her debut novel Piece by Piece and launching the Big Sister Energy podcast, Lori has become known for her honest storytelling and her heart for helping women feel seen, supported, and hopeful. A lifelong lover of community and connection, Lori blends her background in writing, leadership, and personal growth to create spaces where women can share their stories without fear. She is passionate about breaking generational patterns, celebrating resilience, and building safe places for women to show up exactly as they are. Lori is honored to serve as the Director for That's What She Said Terre Haute, and is excited to bring more women's voices to the stage.
